Advice and Support

The Conservation Leadership Programme offers a range of advice and support to potential applicants, CLP award winners and alumni. This level of engagement sets the CLP apart from other funding programmes and agencies.

We are happy to offer advice to potential award applicants and provide links to experts who can offer assistance with developing a proposal. All award applicants will receive feedback from our expert reviewers, which will help you to develop your ideas and hopefully be successful in securing funding – if not from our programme, then another.

The CLP offers training to one representative from each successful conservation award winning team. This training provides the participants with skills in project planning and management, conservation education, dealing with the media and much more. Through the training, we are able to develop relationships with each team and continue to offer advice and support through project implementation and thereafter.

Over the years, we have developed several manuals to help people develop conservation projects and gain skills to carry out projects. The 'Conservation Project Manual' provides in-depth information on developing a project idea, while the 'Survey Techniques Manual' focuses on how to go about surveying birds using the most appropriate methodologies. We also recognise that perhaps CLP funding is not appropriate for all projects. We have therefore compiled information on alternative funding sources available for conservation projects. Visit Other Funding Options for more information.
