Alumni Grants

If you were a member of a CLP (formerly BPCP) award winning team and want to further build your conservation knowledge and skills, you may benefit from a CLP Alumni Grant. Grants in the amount of up to $1,250 are awarded twice a year and can be used to attend conferences, workshops or short-term training courses offered by universities and other institutions that are focusing on biodiversity conservation.

To be eligible for an Alumni Grant, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • You must have been a team member on a CLP funded project (to be verified by the team leader), an RFP recipient or CLP Intern.
  • Your proposed training or conference must be completed within one year of receiving the funds and cannot be part of an academic degree program.
  • You must have the approval of your employer to attend the training/conference (if applicable).

Criteria by which we assess applications:

  • The participant is giving a talk or presentation.
  • The training or conference adds to the applicant's personal development.
  • The training or conference will contribute to conservation in the region where the applicant is working.
  • The training or conference is internationally recognized and provides valuable networking opportunities.

Alumni Grants cover expenses for travel, registration, accommodation, meals and incidentals. Only one team member may apply for funding for a given conference or training each year. The application process can take up to two months from the time your application is submitted until the date funds are dispersed, so please plan accordingly.

How to Apply

Eligible alumni may download an application through the Alumni Network pages.
