Summary:  

Numbers of White-headed duck in Russia have drastically reduced during the last 40 years. This project will help reduce the degradation of 46 key sites of White-headed duck in Russia by i) creating a National Action plan, ii) preparing documents to define the status of a nature reserves, iii) estimating the number of White-headed duck in key sites, and iv) raising the awareness of local communities. The results and the project experience will be available in a form of a report on White-headed duck in Russia, as well as articles in an international journal. The project results will be essential for the White-headed duck conservation and ecosystems, and the protection of its habitats.
