Oxford University expedition to Sabah, Malaysia 1994

Victoria Chester

Continuing the work of two previous Oxford expeditions to Sabah, the team carried out underwater surveys of coral cover and diversity at six permanent reef sites in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Baseline data gathered during 1994 will assist in the long-term monitoring of reef status and will be comparable with previous data to assess whether actual changes in coral cover and diversity are taking place. Members of the Malaysian Society for Marine Science and students from Kebangsaan University were involved in the surveys.
