Work placements are hosted by partner organisations of Fauna & Flora, WCS and BirdLife. The CLP mentees who are successful in being placed with partners will learn new skills from experienced staff, gain insights into office and field working environments, and develop their conservation networks. Completion of a Career Placement boosts mentees’ employability in the conservation workplace, helping them accomplish their career goals.
Career Placements are developed to specifically meet the learning needs and interests of individual applicants and their host organisations, while creating a mutually beneficial dynamic. Mentors provide guidance to orient mentees in the host organisation and support them in achieving their learning targets. Mentees gain membership to the CLP Alumni Network with access to networking, professional development opportunities and funding. Career Placement opportunities are developed by each of the partner organisations. CLP does not solicit or accept applications from the public.
Career Placement candidates are:
- early in their conservation career (less than 5 years paid experience)
- committed to pursuing conservation as a career
- not already employed by a CLP partner organisation
