Community-based Marine Resource Management

The overall goal of the community-based marine resources management Career Placement is to facilitate and support coastal communities to sustainably manage and conserve marine resources. Through hands-on experience and engagement with local stakeholders, interns will develop skills through capacity building training and community outreach, participatory management measures establishment, as well as local institutions mentoring and coaching. The mentee will be fostering collaboration between communities, government agencies, and other marine conservation stakeholders in the Tanga region. The Career Placement aims to enhance the resilience of marine ecosystems and improve the livelihoods of coastal community residents. Ultimately, the Career Placement will support cultivating a sense of ownership and stewardship among communities, leading to the sustainably marine resources management and conservation.
