Designing and delivering an impactful environmental education program for primary school children in Madagascar
Chantia Mahavory
This placement’s host organisation (Madagasikara Voakajy) believes personal conviction forged by education is key to achieving local and global conservation and development goals. Through this placement, Chantia will use her social communication knowledge and skills to design and deliver impactful environmental education programs for primary school children in Madagascar. By impactful, we mean knowledge and behaviour that children will remember, repeat and share over time and space, as they grow up, so that parents and other people who did not attend the program will behave accordingly.
“These experiences have honed my ability to drive community-focused conservation and sustainable development initiatives. The internship has been an enriching learning experience and achieved what I expected as a way to put into action the theories I have learned at University on social development in Madagascar.”
