This project aims to research dragonfly biodiversity in social forestry areas across four villages: Gohong, Kalawa, Mantaren I, and Buntoi, located in Kahayan Hilir, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The study will focus on dragonfly species diversity, habitat conditions, and the distribution of endemic and threatened species. Data collection will involve fieldwork conducted in direct collaboration with members of the Lembaga Pengelola Hutan Desa (LPHD), the managers of the social forestry areas. In addition to field research, the project will include educational campaigns in schools and on social media to raise awareness about dragonflies among local communities, particularly targeting young people. The results of this research will contribute valuable data to the local biodiversity database and help foster greater community engagement in conservation efforts. The project’s findings will be presented to Lembaga Pengelola Hutan Desa (LPHD) in workshops that will involve key stakeholders, academics, and NGOs. These workshops are designed to encourage collaboration and build a strong foundation for sustainable conservation efforts.
