CLP is excited to announce our call for applications for 2020 Conservation Awards!
CLP is now accepting funding applications via our online awards site! All funding applications must be submitted online using this site by 11:59pm GMT on 24th November 2019.
https://awards.conservationleadershipprogramme.org/
We recommend that teams develop their proposals using the Word template provided and then copy and paste data into the application site. Please ensure that you select the correct awards category when you start your application. Applicants who have not previously been funded by CLP can only apply for a Future Conservationist Award. Please do not access the site using Internet Explorer. If you have any questions, please contact clp@birdlife.org
Once submitted, the application will be reviewed by the CLP Management team who will check that the project and team are eligible for funding. If your application is eligible, it will be reviewed by conservation experts who will score your application based on feasibility, contribution to conservation and capacity development of the teams. Funding decisions will be made in March 2020 by the CLP Award Selection Committee and winners will be announced in April 2020.
About the Awards and Eligibility
This funding supports early-career conservationists to conduct scientific research, encourage and promote pro-conservation attitudes and deliver tangible results to better conserve and manage the natural world.
In this round we are accepting applications for projects across Africa, Asia, Eastern and South-eastern Europe, the Middle East, the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. Countries that are not eligible include those designated as high-income economies by the World Bank, with the exception of some countries and island nations in Latin America & Caribbean and the Pacific.
We will offer three levels of Conservation Awards:
- Future Conservationist Awards: Up to $15,000 per project
- Conservation Follow-Up Awards: Up to $25,000 per project (available only to previous CLP Future Conservationist Award winners)
- Conservation Leadership Awards: Up to $50,000 per project (available only to previous CLP Follow-Up Award winners)
Among other criteria, projects must take place in an eligible country, be led (or co-led) by a national of one of these countries, involve at least three team members and last no more than 12 months. The projects must also target species that are listed as Data Deficient, Vulnerable, Endangered or Critically Endangered on the global IUCN Red List.
Proposals from previous CLP grantees applying for a Conservation Follow-up or Conservation Leadership award will only be considered if a logical framework has already been reviewed by CLP (October) and previous project reporting is up to date.
All awards will be announced in April 2020.
This call for applications has been made possible thanks to support from Arcadia – a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.
