Fundraising Workshop

The aim of the fundraising workshop is to increase capacity of young conservationists to obtain funding and to raise the quality of applications to CLP and other small grants programmes.

During this intensive five-day workshop, participants are guided through the entire project development and proposal writing process and acquire in-depth information on a range of proposal-related topics.

Participants are first introduced to the basics of project planning and design, and they learn how to use a variety of project development tools. Based on these, they develop budgets, Gantt charts and monitoring and evaluation plans. Participants then go through the proposal writing process, learning how to describe their project in the most attractive way and how to “make their pitch” to a selected donor. They also learn how to find donors, how to develop and maintain relationships with them, and how to develop fundraising strategies and plans.
