Madagascar is one of the top 15 countries with the largest area of coral reefs in the world, boasting more coral species than any other country in Africa, the Indian Ocean or the Red Sea and yet coral reef monitoring specialists in Madagascar are very few. Bemahafaly Randriamanantsoa is one of them and he will mentor Roberto Jean Luc, a young Malagasy scientist, to build his capacities in coral reef monitoring and reef fisheries monitoring.
