SUPPORTED PROJECTS

Marine turtle conservation project intern

Ngouan Tharamony

Sea turtles are classified as endangered and protected species in Cambodia’s Sub-decree No. 123 on the 23rd of August 2009. Activities that threaten their populations in Cambodia, such as trawling resulting in bycatch must be reduced to support conservation. To achieve this, assessments on community attitudes towards sea turtle bycatch and targeted awareness raising at pre-identified hotspot will be conducted across the coastline. The Coastal and Marine Conservation Programme (CMCP) of FFI, with support from US Fish and Wildlife (USFW), is seeking to improve and expand marine species conservation with the support of a dedicated intern.
