Migration and conservation of eastern Pacific green turtles

Blanco, Gabriela

The eastern Pacific Green turtle (Chelonia mydas) inhabits the waters of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador, which makes it vulnerable to fishing activity by those countries. Declines in populations are well known. The overall objective of this study was to determine the migration and inter-nesting movements of East Pacific green turtles from Costa Rica in relation to threats to these turtles in the ocean.
