The overall objective is to provide a future conservation leader with on-the-job training and exposure to the day-to- day workings of a conservation NGO. The specific internship objective is to strengthen local capacity for integrated landscape management approaches to conservation and community development on Ometepe Island, Nicaragua, through the promotion of good governance practices, in accordance with Ometepe’s recently declared Biosphere Reserve status.
