Danita Marietta Strickland
The overall goal of the internship is to build the professional capacity of a young national Samoan graduate in the field of protected areas, conservation and natural resource management by enhancing research skills and in the field experience participating in ecological survey and rapid biodiversity assessment surveys undertaken by CI Pacific Staff and partners. At the same time, the intern will improve analytical and writing skills by conducting reviews of existing national action plans and strategies such as the Action Plan for Implementing the Convention on Biological Diversity Programme of Work on Protected Areas in Samoa 2011 and prepare an update report on Samoa’s progress in implementing the POWPA.
